Nancy Moses

Credit to where credit is due.  The idea for this series was Nancy’s.  Her career has been building towards a project like this.  Building on her academic background in American Civilization, The Women of Philadelphia, Nancy knows Philadelphia’s historical and non-profit landscape intimately.  She served as Executive Director of the Atwater Kent Museum, on the executive staff for the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Philadelphia Studies, and helped the Wharton School of Business to launch its Social Impact Corps. Nancy is so much more than a great idea generator.  She is the author of Lost in the Museum: Hidden Treasures and the Stories They Tell and her articles have appeared in The Wall Journal, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, Public Management Magazine, and other publications.

Lauren Katz Smith
Lauren Katz SmithProducer

Lauren joined HMP in 2013 to assume leadership for this documentary film project. In her capacity as producer, Lauren is driving the development of the project’s fundraising, corporate sponsorships and community outreach and is sharing leadership with Nancy Moses on developing program content. Lauren is an attorney who practiced in corporate litigation and in addition to her roles as Producer of the Women’s project, serves as Counsel to the company. She is born and raised pure Philly. Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tufts University (2003) and a JD from the Drexel University School of Law (2009).

 

Ginny is flat out one creative women.  Her art, called photo-realism is beautiful and easily mistaken for photography She is an Emmy-nominated television broadcast design director and animator, serving as Design Director for FOX29 Philadelphia for 18 years and as a designer/animator at 6abc for 5 years.  Ginny works her magic to develop graphics and animations for all of the films produced by our company. We look good because she makes us look good.

 

Lori Salganicoff
Lori SalganicoffAssociate Producer
Lori helps to connect the film series to financial and community supporters in the Greater Philadelphia area and beyond. Lori’s passion for integrating history into community revitalization provides a valuable perspective to our efforts. When not obsessing over the Centennial Exhibition, Lori works as an urban planner, preservationist, and fundraiser as president of Wynne Collaborative LLC.

 

Amy Cohen
Amy CohenDirector of Education

Thanks to Amy, the region’s students and educators will have the resources and tools that they need to integrate the film series into the curriculum. She develops lesson plans and class activities for the Great Experiment and will do the same for the Women of Philadelphia. Movie days will bring rigor and inspiration as well
as relief! Amy taught middle and high school social studies for over twenty years,
most recently at Masterman School.

 

Janet Benton

Janet is a writer, editor, and teacher of writing with three decades of experience. She has written and edited works for many audiences, including books, magazines, newspapers, journal articles, novels, short stories, and dissertations. As our documentary scriptwriter, Janet will work to turn the ideas, stories, and historical themes of Philadelphia’s women into a written narrative.

 

Rachel Stewart

Rachel is the senior editor at History Making Productions. She hails from Reading, PA and has lived in Philadelphia the past five years. She has been editing for History Making Productions for the past year. In addition to film, Rachel studies Shotokan Karate and is currently a purple belt.

 

Alaina Logan

A graduate of Slippery Rock University, Alaina has launched her career at History Making Productions as an editor and post-production specialist. Alaina will lend her editing skills to creating Short Cut and “Webisode” materials for The Women of Philadelphia, helping to expand our media content into a rich library featuring the diverse stories of local women.

 

Cathy Greenberg

Cathy is a professional life coach, public speaker, and New York Times best selling author with an accomplished career in consulting. Cathy holds a PhD in the behavioral sciences and is an internationally recognized authority on human behavior. A professional powerhouse with global standing, Cathy will work to garner national attention for The Women of Philadelphia.  

 

Sam Katz
Sam KatzExecutive Producer
Sam Katz is a lifelong Philadelphian who has experienced a diverse and unique career in public and project finance, venture capital, civic affairs, development, politics and now documentary filmmaking. Sam is relied upon to provide a modest amount of testosterone to the project.
